We don’t just teach moves. We transform mindsets and awaken warriors.

We don’t teach fear. We teach focus.
When left unmanaged, fear can block happiness and stunt personal growth. But when understood as a signal, fear becomes a powerful tool — sharpening intuition and acting as an early warning system.
WarriorUp helps teens recognise it, trust it, and respond with calm, clarity, and confidence.
Self-protection is a strategy — more like chess than chance.
See the board. Know the pieces. Learn the moves. Choose the moment.
We train teens to elevate their response when needed (ABC), and to hold ground with non-escalatory calm when it counts (NBC).
This is internal leadership — not just reacting, but responding like warriors.
Real-world threats demand real-world training.
It’s not about speed. It’s about readiness.
A camera flash lasts 1 millisecond.
Human reaction time? Around 250.
You can’t out-react a sudden threat — not with speed alone.
That’s why the first rule of realistic self-defence is boundary control.
Verbal. Physical. Instinctive.
When teens learn to set strong boundaries early — through posture, tone, and awareness — they’re less likely to be targeted and more likely to respond with calm clarity.
Think how fast they move when their phone pings.
We train that same reflex— not to check a screen, but to deal with danger instinctively.
Because milliseconds matter, there’s no need for hesitation. Just trained instinct when something’s not right.

Science-backed warrior skills that stick for life.

David Beat Goliath. And So Can Your Teen (the smallest can make the smartest move).
Overcoming a larger, stronger aggressor isn’t fantasy — it’s physics, mindset, and preparation.
In WarriorUp, we train teens to use their greatest asset: focus under pressure. When adrenaline surges, a calm, trained mind can respond instinctively — using the 3 Principles of Power (rotational, kinetic, and EPE – taught in GCSE Science) to strike with precision.
With tactical targeting and smart use of biomechanics, even a smaller teen can disrupt an attacker long enough to escape.
They learn to read their body’s chemistry — and their attacker’s — and act with strategy, not with panic.
Using the ABC principle, they stand the best chance of one thing:
Getting home safely.
WarriorUp gives them the skills to do it — and the mindset to believe they can.
Relationship intelligence: How warriors handle pressure and protect values.
Because emotional pressure can hit harder than a shove!
Even the smartest and most grounded teens can feel pressured — especially when the manipulation is dressed up as charm, flattery or “just go along with it”.
WarriorUp trains teens to spot coercion early, respond with calm strength, and protect their values without fear of rejection. This isn’t just about saying “no” — it’s about knowing their worth and standing by it.
Real self-protection starts with self-respect and the courage to honour it.

Most self-defence training fails under pressure: Mu-shin makes it instinctive for life!

You can’t access what you haven’t wired in.
The self-defence industry needs shaking up. The idea that you can take a course, tick a box, and expect to recall complex techniques years later — in a moment of fear and adrenaline — is not just misguided. It’s dangerous.
That’s why WarriorUp trains differently.
We teach simplified, high-impact skills — then embed them deeply through neural reinforcement, habit-stacking, and targeted muscle memory training.
So when it counts, your teen doesn’t freeze or fumble. They move. Instinctively.
After all, you don’t forget how to ride a bike or catch a ball. Why? Because repetition wires it in.
Self-protection should be no different.
The WarriorUp Effect — In Their Words
Mrs Stokes, Head of Art & Design Technology at The Elms School in Colwall, Worcestershire, shares her reflections following our 2-hour WarriorUp workshop delivered to her Year 8 leavers.
Meet the Creator – Stuart Kirby

Qualified Teacher. Martial Artist. Creator of WarriorUp.
Stuart earned his PGCE from the Institute of Education in 2012 and began his teaching career at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan — one of the country’s most respected institutions. It was here that two life-shaping passions converged: education and martial arts (43 years practicing martial artist).
During his seven years in Japan, Stuart trained intensively at the headquarters dojo for both Karate (KWF, JKA, NSKF) and Aikido (Yoshinkan), immersing himself in a culture that views self-defence not as aggression, but as precision, awareness, and calm control. He discovered that with the right approach, even the smallest individual could respond effectively to a much larger threat.
But as a teacher, he also noticed something that would later shape WarriorUp:
students often forget what they’ve learned as they move on to the next thing. In the context of self-defence, that’s a problem — because when danger strikes, you don’t have time to recall steps. You need instinct.
Combining his love for neuroscience with his practical experience in martial arts and education, Stuart developed a new approach to self-protection — one grounded in habit formation, behavioural design, and simplified motor learning. The result is WarriorUp: a programme that empowers teens to build confidence, set boundaries, and react under pressure — not just with technique, but with instinct that lasts for life.

Can you really learn physical defence skills online?
Absolutely! Just like Steezy teaches dance, Rosetta Stone teaches languages, and Yousician teaches musical instruments, millions have successfully mastered new skills through online learning. The secret to their success lies in clear instruction, repetition, and incremental progress.
WarriorUp uses this same proven formula. Our Simplified and Instinctive Response System (SIRS) is specifically designed for online learning, breaking self-defence techniques into micro chunks that are easy to understand and practice. By applying a scientific approach to embedding skills into muscle memory, WarriorUp ensures you can develop effective, instinctive self-defence skills—all from the comfort of your own space.

Aren’t I better off doing a martial art or combat sport?
If you’re passionate enough about that type of training and ready to commit to 3 to 4 hours a week for several years and have found a good dojo or combat gym, this can be a great option.
WarriorUp is designed for those who don’t have the time or resources for that level of commitment. As a martial arts student of 40 years, I designed my courses to simplify the very best techniques to allow for easy, automatic responses. This is my goal for every student – to be able to respond to violence, even with the extremes of fear and pressure thrown into a situation.
WarriorUp provides a fast-track alternative, focusing solely on realistic, practical techniques. Unlike traditional martial arts or combat sports, there’s no time spent on competition preparation or ceremonial drills. Instead, WarriorUp prioritises effective tactics, mindset training, and instinctive skills that are directly applicable to real-world scenarios.

Insure property? Why Not the Self?
We insure our homes, cars, pets, and gadgets—so why not ourselves? Just like home insurance offers protection in case something bad happens, WarriorUp is affordable, accessible, and practical self-defence training to provide a level of “personal cover” that wasn’t there.
Most think, “It won’t happen to me.” While we shouldn’t live in fear, being unprepared is never ideal. It leaves us vulnerable. That’s why WarriorUp uses the science of muscle memory to embed practical physical, tactical, and mindset skills that stay with you for life.
With blaster drills and fitness videos, WarriorUp ensures these skills become instinctive, as well as boosting inner confidence and readiness that enhances all areas of life.
